The Ardèche is a household name among tourists, this is mainly said because of the beautiful nature that you can find here. From mountains to caves, it's almost too beautiful for the eye, but something you should definitely see in real life.
When you talk about the Ardèche, most people think of the Pont d'Arc & Gorges de l'Ardéche. This piece of nature is also known as the European Grand Canyon. It is a natural arch formation, which marks the beginning of the Gorges de l'Ardèche. This is a gorge of up to 30 kilometers long that runs from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc to Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche. In the nearby tourist village of Vallon-Pont d'Arc you will find plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to relax.
Also worth a visit are the many caves in the Ardèche. Take for example the Aven d'Orgnac, this is a stalactite cave that was discovered in 1935 and is visited by 140.000 people every year. Or the Saint Marcel d'Ardèche, this is a fairytale cave, so far known to be the longest in the Ardèche. As a final tip, we have the Grotte de la Madeleine, this cave was created by underground water complaints and even has a sound and light show.
