What can you expect on your holiday in Aquitaine?
Aquitaine is located on the west coast of southern France. Together with Poitou-Charentes and Limousin, Aquitaine lies in Nouvelle Aquitaine, an area stretching from Poitiers in the Vendee to the border with Spain at the level of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Landes, Gironde, Dordogne... The three largest departments within France's borders are in Aquitaine. Not surprisingly, this region is very diverse!
Did you know that Gironde is known as a beautiful wine region?
On to Gironde. When you think of Bordeaux, you probably already taste the flavour of red wine. This is because you can find many opportunities for wine tasting here in the area. Saint-Emilion, for example, is one such place where you can both delve into the history of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed medieval village and visit several wine cellars.
