What does Domaine la Barbe have to offer?

Domaine la Barbe is located on the border of the departments of Gers, Haute-Garone and Haute-Pyrenees, in the south-west of France. The region also still reflects the authentic atmosphere of the French countryside. As if time has stood still! It is a small holiday oasis where the owners really take the time for their guests and keep everything personal. At Domaine la Barbe, you can really enjoy yourself and completely unwind. Enjoy the beautiful 20-metre pool and take a refreshing dip on hot days or enjoy a drink on the covered terrace. Or go fishing by the beautiful lake after a nice bike ride in the area. Supping is also possible in the lake and you can even rent these on site. You can also spend the evening by the lake, enjoying the setting sun. At Domaine la Barbe, they also have a 'Table d'hôte.' During high season, a 3-course dinner on the evening of the arrival day is included, and during the week you can sign up for the 3-course dinner (15 euros!) with local products on some days.

There is also plenty to do in the surrounding area. Hiking, cycling, golfing, visiting villages, browsing through markets, mountain activities, cultural trips and culinary experiences. The Pyrenees are only about 45 kilometres from Domaine la Barbe. A short climb up and you are on one of the famous climbs from the Tour de France: for example, the Tourmalet or the Aspin. Of course, there is much more to do in the Pyrenees such as hiking, canoeing, rafting, mountain climbing and canyoning. Spain is also nearby, in just over an hour's drive you'll be sitting on a terrace enjoying delicious tapas. The surroundings of Lalanne-arqué are also interesting. Within a short distance you will find quaint villages and a few other large lakes, including one with a huge crane colony. About an hour's drive away are some particularly interesting big cities where you can see and experience wonderful things: Toulouse, Auch , Tarbes and Pau. A bit further and you are on the Atlantic coast (Biarritz) or even the Mediterranean (Narbonne-plage).
