You return to your holiday accommodation after a wonderful day and want to unwind for a bit. You change your clothes and step into a warm, relaxing hot tub, or you unwind in a soothing sauna that’s ready whenever you are. A perfect way to end the day, right? Wellness glamping is becoming increasingly popular. People are looking for that extra level of relaxation during their holiday—and what could be better than a campsite with wellness facilities? More and more campsites now offer a range of wellness options for ultimate relaxation.
What is included in wellness?
When we talk about wellness, there are several options to choose from:
- Jacuzzi / Hot tub: Relax in a heated bath with massaging bubbles. Not only is it incredibly soothing, but it also promotes better sleep, improves skin health and blood circulation, and stimulates the production of endorphins—the body’s happiness hormone. With wellness glamping, the jacuzzi is often outdoors, allowing you to gaze at the stars while ending your evening in total relaxation.
- Sauna: The warmth of a sauna helps your muscles fully relax. It also boosts your immune system, improves skin firmness, and helps eliminate toxins from the body—so you wake up refreshed and full of energy the next day.
- Massage: The ultimate form of relaxation is, of course, a wonderful massage. It helps the entire body unwind while reducing or relieving muscle pain, tension, and stress. If you really want to embrace the holiday feeling, a massage is highly recommended.
Campsite with wellness: private or shared?
Campsites offering wellness facilities usually provide either private or shared options. You can choose a glamping accommodation with private wellness facilities included. This means you can step straight from your tent or lodge into your own private sauna or jacuzzi. Often these are located next to the accommodation, but sometimes they are inside—especially convenient during colder months.
There are also campsites with a shared wellness area or building, accessible to all guests or bookable in time slots (a practice that became more common after COVID). While this may offer less privacy than private facilities, it’s a great option if you enjoy a social atmosphere or don’t mind a short walk.
Why book that extra wellness?
Why choose additional wellness? Simply because it’s a wonderful luxury. A holiday is already enjoyable, but adding wellness makes the experience complete. The facilities are suitable for all ages, so even children can enjoy them. And let’s be honest—a jacuzzi under the stars sounds incredibly relaxing.
No wellness at the campsite?
Have you found the perfect campsite, but it doesn’t offer wellness facilities? Don’t worry! Take a look around the area and plan a day at a nearby wellness centre. That way, you can still fully relax and perhaps discover a beautiful and unique place to unwind.
