You don't have to travel far to get that wonderful holiday feeling! During the summer holidays, our colleague Marit travelled with Demy, her friend Ymke and Ymke’s daughter Jailey. A chance to escape the daily routine, spend plenty of time outdoors and simply enjoy a few lovely days together.
But what is it actually like to stay in a safari tent with young children? Marit shares all about their stay, their experiences at the campsite, their favourite moments together and why a few days of glamping in the Netherlands are absolutely worthwhile.
Our glamping experience at Camping de Rammelbeek
“During our stay at Camping de Rammelbeek, we slept in a luxurious 4-person safari tent with a private bathroom. Especially when travelling with children, this is incredibly convenient: you have everything close at hand and don't have to walk to the campsite's sanitary facilities every time.
What makes this campsite particularly great for a holiday with children is the location of the safari tents. They are situated close to a playground, so Jailey could play while we could easily keep an eye on her from the tent. That meant we could relax while she had plenty of space to play!
Another thing we really liked was how much there is for children to do. There are small play areas around the campsite, and the entertainment team is fantastic. Together with Mel the Ram, they make every day fun right up until bedtime. There's also a great indoor playground, a swimming pool and a recreational lake where you can swim and play.”
What can you do with children near Camping de Rammelbeek?
“We also did plenty of things outside the campsite! We took Jailey to Speelpark Hoge Boekel, which is a really fun day out with children. We also visited Nordhorn Zoo, just across the German border. There are various walking and cycling routes in the immediate surroundings of the campsite. We even cycled into the centre of Ootmarsum with Jailey on the back of the bike!”
Is glamping at Camping de Rammelbeek recommended?
“This holiday really exceeded my expectations. They had thought of the children too: the tent had a children's toilet seat, indoor toys such as puzzles and colouring sheets, and even a space hopper for outside. The atmosphere is wonderful, and we really enjoyed our four days here. For all of us, a holiday at Camping de Rammelbeek is definitely something we'd love to do again!”
