Cheer on the cyclists during the Fietselfstedentocht
There is plenty to experience in the north of the country during the Pentecost weekend. On Whit Monday, the Fietselfstedentocht kicks off in the centre of Bolsward. This year marks the 114th edition of the event! The tour attracts so many enthusiasts each year that a lottery system is now used. Every year, 15,000 sporty participants take part in this cycling festival. Riders cover an impressive 235 kilometres through beautiful Friesland, with both the start and finish located in Bolsward. Unfortunately, registrations closed back in December, but it’s of course fantastic to watch the cyclists in action and cheer them on!
